I'm back to the routine. Except I might be skipping my Two Cents Tuesday blogs for lack of opinion lately. Hmmm....Anyway, there's always a reason to be happy, right? Here's a list of my reasons:
1. I was able to run 6 miles today. I was off my total time by about ten minutes. But running through injuries, I'd say that's okay (for now). I really look forward to the day I have a NORMAL run with no pain and back up to pace! When that day comes, it'll be a super HAPPY day!!!!
2. Blake was the best today! He was helpful and kind. When I have days like that, I'm always smiling. Way to be awesome, B!
3. I started making lists for our Florida trip. I can't wait to get away! Now if I can avoid a panic attack from the stress of getting ready AND being on vacation.....I'll be great!
4. The Voice. I pretty much love this show. The Bachelor is quickly becoming my LEAST favorite show (Courtney....I'm talking to you). While The Voice is quickly becoming my favorite. I think it has American Idol beat. But that's just my opinion.
5. I lost a couple more pounds. So I'm about to where I was before I started eating all kinds of crap at Halloween. And I've been sugar free for almost 42 days. And by sugar I mean candy, cookies, cereal, cake, ice cream, etc....I know there are sugars in everything I eat. But for me to give up candy and CEREAL, is pretty much unheard of. I'll probably be adding small amounts of sweet treats back to my diet after my race in April. Yeah. I know. After giving them up that long, I should probably let them go forever. Alas, I love chocolate. And chocolate loves me. Or something...
Happy week to ya! Oh and happy LEAP DAY (which also symbolizes the return of my REAL favorite show....PSYCH). You know that's right! :)

Not a Happy Post...Just a Regular Ol' (WHY ME?) Post!
I decided I am not going to write a happy post tonight, as my title states. This has not been an awesome day so instead of pretending like all is peachy keen-like, I'm going to tell it how it is! :)
Most of my day was spent wishing my dumb leg didn't hurt so bad. I was supposed to run 6 miles today. I made it about 4.7 (running, walking, stopping for stretches) before I could go no more. I absolutely HATE not being able to train. But today taught me that I'm going to have to take a little break. I've got to let this stinkin' psoas heal and then I will continue training.
So since the day started off like that, it wasn't a good sign. While out running errands, I felt myself sticking my tongue out at the BMWs and Range Rovers that were passing me. Yeah. I wish I had enough money to buy a car like that. Shoot, I wish I had enough money to get my windshield replaced. I'm tired of being in the "cracked windshield club." I also found myself cursing the happy couples around me. I mean....geez, is it too much to ask to actually LIVE with your husband? BLAH. Then I spent the aftternoon wishing my creative juices would come back to me. Apparently I drained them, unknowingly. I really want to work on my book but I haven't had the drive lately. Speaking of drive...I also stressed out about driving my car all the way to Florida for our Disney vacation in March. I'm hoping it can make the trip. And I'm hoping I still have good roadside assistance! ;)
Sure, my thyroid is out of whack. It could be the reason for this emotional roller coaster I'm currently riding. So I apologize for making it seem like I need a dose (or several) of happy pills. What I am doing for myself, my family, and the general population....is going to get my blood taken tomorrow morning. My life will be a MILLION times better (I'm sure of it already) when my dosage is correct. But until that happens....I guess tonight will be full of highs and lows.
I always like to mention when I'm being a big baby and whining (and yes....I would like some cheese with my w(h)ine) that I know things could be worse. I'm so thankful that my problems, while large to me at the moment, are really small in the whole scheme of things. I think. I was on WebMD for like an hour last night and I could have any number of dreaded diseases. But without insurance, I guess I'll just keep on worrying myself sick (literally).
In happy news, I'm posting several pictures from the Pacers game last weekend (not this last Saturday...but the one before that...heaven forbid I look at a calendar). My sister, Beth came into town and we were lucky enough to have our dear friends hook us up with tickets. And honestly? While I'm typing this....I feel myself getting happier! We started the night in row 7 but Alan was able to move us down to the court at halftime. We sat right next to the basket. That means that I handled the ball THREE times. Yes, that's right. THREE times. Once, I caught the ball and handed it to a ball boy. Once, I caught it and tossed it to the ref. And once, oh once, I handed the ball to ROY HIBBERT! My heart was racing for a good long while after that! He's my favorite player on the team. So that pretty much made my night (and week...and month...and you get the idea).
I also thought it was cool to cheer the players on when they were right in front of me. I had to make sure they knew I was familiar with all of their names. I think Beth was a little embarrassed. And I think the camera guys next to us thought I was a certified nut job (which I am...let's face it). And after all that.....on our way to the elevator, we ran into George Hill. Yeah, one of my other favorite players. I tried to be discreet about taking his picture with my phone while he jabbered with his friend. But the flash went off so I think he knew what was going on. I wish I had been brave enough to pull the sharpie out of my purse (yes, I always carry one with me for situations like this) and ask him for his autograph. *SIGH*
Anyway, here are the pictures. I'm glad I told the story of the game. Now I'm much happier! Perhaps I should erase all the other sob story stuff? NAH. I have to remember ALL my crazy!
Hope you have a happy week...full of sunshine and stuff! :)
*I should point out that the picture below is of David West's legs. His left calf has a tattoo that says "CARPE." The right calf, of course, says "DIEM." I think I should have followed his advice today. Eh? Maybe tomorrow....*

Two Cents Tuesday!
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you star-crossed lovers (ugh...I hate that word) out there! Or hey, even if you aren't in looooooove....happy Valentine's Day anyway! And on that note, I'd LOVE to point out something that drives me CRAZY! People with Christmas decorations STILL up, I'm talking to YOU!!!
Okay so I usually don't judge people who leave their Christmas lights up because sometimes people just do that. But your candy cane pathway lights, giant snow globes, ornaments hanging on trees in your front yard, CHRISTMAS TREES, and window decorations REALLY need to come down. Normally (sometimes) I feel bad because it's so bitterly cold in the winter and not a bucket full of fun to be out there taking down decorations. But guess what, folks? It's been a MILD winter. That means there really is NO excuse. Well, I guess I would be okay listening to some excuses. But as far as I can see right now, there are only a couple good ones I'd understand!
I'm getting tired of driving through my neighborhood and seeing Christmas stuff all around. It's Valentine's Day. By St. Patrick's Day, all that stuff better be down! And I'd like to see it replaced with some shamrocks, blarney stones, pots of gold at the end of rainbows, or something. I'm begging and pleading!
It feels good to get that off my chest. Even if it is Valentine's Day. Maybe I'm a tad grumpy because my love is gone and my running injury has got me down. Or maybe it's just THAT annoying to leave your Christmas decorations up nearly TWO months after the holiday. Sheesh. And....that's my two cents!
Oh and here's a picture of our Valentine's Day brinner (breakfast for dinner)! The kids loved their pink (needed a tad more food coloring), heart-shaped pancakes, bacon, and strawberries!

HAPPY! :)
I think I should do a sarcastic happy post after everything that went wrong today! Alas, I'm gonna pull some awesome things out of the seemingly pile of garbage day I had! WOO HOO for positive mental attitude (which we abbreviated as PMA in my cheerleading days.....feel free to use it)!
1. My shins didn't hurt much at all on my five mile run (I won't talk about the fact that I have since pulled my psoas muscle and can barely walk, bend down, lift, or generally MOVE at all now). I am pretty sure my body hates me. And I'm pretty sure my body should know that I'm stubborn and I WILL win this battle. I will run this stinkin' mini marathon in April!!!
2. Louisville ALMOST beat the number 2 team in the country. But then they lost by 1. I was happy. Then I was sad. :(
3. This isn't going too well, is it? Okay.....let's see....my kids are pretty awesome. And on the first day of two weeks without Billy, they were both very well behaved! Thank you, Blake and Lola for saving the day!
4. I lost some more weight. That's always good, right? I should be to my target before race day, for sure! :) That is, unless I start eating everything on earth to distract from the stress and frustration of this darn injury!
5. Blake did great at basketball practice. And Lola and I had fun with (her imagination) Lightning McQueen and Mater. They were all over the gym and nobody even knew! :)
Keepin' it real, folks. And always trying to stay happy! Have a wonderful week and stuff!

Two Cents Tuesday!
It's that time again. And I'm almost OUT of time to publish this! So what am I thinking today? Well....I just got home from a Pacers game (one in which they defeated the Utah Jazz...WOO HOO)! Whenever I go to sporting events, I get a kick out of what people wear. I'm in no way judging others and their ensembles. I mean, I'm no fashionista by any means! I'm not talking about the average folk, anyway!
My focus is on the people who wear random sports jerseys, t-shirts, etc....just because they are going to a game. For example, if you are going to a basketball game (go Pacers), you really don't have to pull out that old Chicago Bears jersey. It IS a sporting event....but it is NOT a Bears game. So now do you know what I'm trying to say? My theory is....if you don't have a shirt representing the team playing....perhaps just wear normal clothes? Just a thought.....Because it's kinda irritating to see all the random sports teams represented at a game. So basically....if you don't look like this guy, (Pacers Yellow Man) just wear a regular shirt and some jeans! Perhaps?
And that's my two cents!
*Disclaimer* If you are one of those people who show up to a football game wearing a Nascar jersey/shirt, I'll still be your friend! I just might ask you to change your habits!?! And I'm sorry if I offended anyone!

HAPPY! :)
Five things making me happy right now? How about that AMAZING Cards win over the Huskies tonight?!? Yup. That's my number 1.
1. The U of L victory (in case you didn't catch that from the first time I said it)! GO CARDS!
2. Blake didn't have school today (it was a flex day for snow but we didn't have any snow days so yay)! He was awesome. We had such a great day!
3. My legs are still running! Well...not right now but they run every day! They still hurt a bit but there's no way it's a stress fracture (according to Dr. ME). So I keep on training. 5 miles on Saturday was a piece of cake. Today's 4 mile run wasn't bad at all! I'm on the way to 13.1!
4. The Voice is back on. It caused a huge scheduling conflict with all my other shows. But I'm making it work. And I'm watching right now! Oh, how I love Blake Shelton!
5. I have yellow nail polish on. Jaundice looking? Nah. I'm rockin' it. I'll show ya! Don't mind that I apparently have old lady hands now. Geesh.....
Happy week to all of my readers (who I think are getting few and far between.....COME ON over and check out my blog, people)!!!!!!!

Super Bowl Eve!
Pacers game in Indy the night before the Super Bowl? Yes, please. I'm not scared to battle a crowd for a night of basketball and celebrity watching! It wasn't as nightmarish as I thought it might be. We left REALLY early but it all worked out! We got to see the hordes of people in Super Bowl Village. And we got to see the big crowd at the game! We had a great time!
The Pacers lost to the Magic, which wasn't so awesome. But the game was SOOOO much fun. Pretty much the...Best. Game. Ever. The fans were really into it. The game was really close. There were lots of technical fouls called on the Magic. There was a small fight (which seemed way bigger than it was when we were there). I got to see Earl Clark (Louisville star who now plays for the Magic). And finally.....there were several celebrities sitting pretty darn close! Who? Well, boxing champ, Floyd Mayweather caused quite a stir when he arrived with his posse of about twenty dudes. He brought along his friend, rapper, 50 Cent. They were sitting courtside right in front of our section so we were pretty close to the action. Lil Kim was sitting about two rows over. And finally, my favorite, Adam Sandler was sitting in a suite across the arena from us. Of course the pics aren't great, but I still took them. I'm slightly obsessed with ALL things Adam Sandler. So even though he was pretty far away, he was in the SAME building with me. And that made me happy! :):):)
A big thank you to our awesome friends, the Mowreys for a GREAT Super Bowl Eve!

My guys, warming up! |
Had to get a picture of Earl Clark (used to be E5...now he's E3)! |
One more of Earl! |
Floyd Mayweather in the white shirt (bending down) and 50 Cent is in the blue NY hat. |
A couple more of Floyd. |
Hard to see him, I know. But Adam Sandler is right above the security guard. He has his hand on his chin. |
Lil Kim is next to the guy in the orange shirt! |
50 Cent finally stood up but I still couldn't get his face. Blue shirt and blue hat! |
Fans finally discovered Adam Sandler in suite 105. He is the one getting comfy! ;) |
One more of Adam's suite! |

NFL EXPERIENCE!!!!
A couple reasons why Indianapolis is a pretty cool place to live right now???? 1. The Pacers are AMAZING and super fun to watch! I wanted to include the picture below from a couple weeks ago because I forgot to blog it back then. Oops! Oh, and the other reason it's kinda (super) cool around here? Two words. Super. Bowl. And let the madness begin!!!
We had the chance to head down to the NFL Experience and check out the Super Bowl Village on Wednesday! We were able to go with our good friends, the Mowrey family! We had a blast! Lola was a little (VERY) rambunctious. But I survived. And poor Alan got stuck with stroller duty through the MASSIVE crowds!
Anyway, I didn't get to rub elbows with any famous celebrities like I wanted. But we did see Plaxico Burress signing autographs. And we saw some other famous football player with an entourage. I didn't know who he was, though. Oh and of course, Blue (the Colts' mascot was there).
Blake had tons of fun! He played the Kinect, he kicked extra points, threw footballs, caught passes, ran a 40 yard dash, and......wait for it....went ziplining at the end of the night! I can't believe he went through with it. He wasn't really as scared as I though he would be. He even let go for a brief second to do a fist pump! I'm including the video but after 30 seconds, his bit is done. I didn't know how to edit that out! Sorry! When he was done, he said he wanted to do that every day. Since I can't afford to set up a zipline on a daily basis, I guess that won't be happening for him. Rats.
So here are a million photos showing how much fun we all had! I guess there are certain perks to living in Indiana after all! Happy Super Bowl watching. What's that? Who am I rooting for? I can't believe I'm saying this....The Patriots. I just threw up a little in my mouth. The reason (and ONLY) reason is because I want Chad Ochocinco to get his Super Bowl ring and then get the heck out of there (New England), Oh, and I kinda think Wes Welker is funny. And that's it. Oh wait. I also LOVE Deion Branch. How could I not? He is one of my very favorite Louisville football STARS! So there you have it. I'm silently cheering for a team I generally despise. But for my fellas on the team.....I'm gonna do it! Here's hoping I see someone around town in the next couple days! I can imagine, right? :)
