NOT Happy!?!?!?

I will have to delay my weekly happy post.  For realsies.  I'm pretty much in the middle of a nervous breakdown.  AGAIN!  It was a pretty frustrating weekend.  Now I'm home (from Louisville) and I'm going nuts.  Blake has been downstairs no less than TEN times so far tonight.  And yes, it is after 11 PM.  AAARRRGHHH!!!!!  Why won't he sleep?  EVER?!?  So because of my extreme amount of crazy, I will have to write that other post some other day!  I hope you all understand!

In other news, I would like to express my gratitude, appreciation, and respect for all the soldiers out there.  Without them, who knows where we would be!  So on this Memorial Day, I am saying thank you to everyone serving our country!

HAPPY! :)

I had the great pleasure of driving to St. Simons Island in Georgia over the weekend!  My mom and sister went with me and we had a wonderful time!  The occasion?  My dear friend, Julie was getting married!  The journey was long (about 12 hours) but SOOOOOO worth it.  I needed a break.  And now I'm home.  Were my kids happy to see me?  Well, Blake was.  Lola was upset I came home and ruined her father/daughter bonding.  Huh.  Anyway, I was happy to see them!  Here is a list of 5 things that made me happy while on my vacation.  I should also mention that getting a third degree sunburn (at least that's what I'm calling it) is the worst thing about the trip.  And yeah, I should have listened to my mom and applied sunscreen.  Needless to say, I will be happy when it goes away and I can sleep again at night!  Okay, on with the happy.....

1.  I got to see several dear friends from high school and it was awesome.  It also made me happy to be able to attend the wedding of two friends!  I love people in love.  For reals.

2.  Subway sandwiches.  I say this because I ate there three days in a row....for lack of anything better when on a diet while traveling.  For the record.....I don't want a Subway sandwich anytime soon.  Even if they are delicious and they made me happy!  I give mad props to Jared, the Subway dude, for eating there every day for a bajillion years.

3.  Seeing the ocean.  And swimming in the ocean.  Well, by swimming, I mean walking out into the water and standing there.  That's about all I did in the ocean.  There were a lot of people there and I'm not too fond of parading around in my bathing suit.  If you catch my drift.  But I did enjoy being on the beach!

4.  Getting a break from life was pretty nice.  However, I was a little concerned the world would be ending on the 21st.  I wasn't with my hubby and kids.  Which was slightly disappointing.  But at least I had my mom and sister.  And some rice cakes (also a dieting girl's best friend).  Since the rapture thingy didn't happen and we're all still here, I guess I really had nothing to worry about!  And escaping my 24/7 mothering duties was just what I needed.  Thank you, Billy! :)

5.  Spending quality time with family.  It was fun.  And we did a lot of shopping.  And we did a lot of walking.  And talking.  And laughing.  It was amazing!  Thanks, gals!  We made some pretty great memories!

HAPPY! :)

I should be calling these posts "CRAZY" because it feels like that's how my last several weeks have been!  I can always think of about 5 (or 20....) things that are driving me crazy at any given moment.  Alas, it is time I focus on what's important.  And when I write these blogs, sometimes it helps put happiness in perspective!  So here goes the top 5 things that are making me SMILE right now:

1.  Psych.  Season 3.  That should be all I have to say.  But seriously.  Shawn and Gus could easily be my best friends (in my fantasy life where tv characters are real).  I LOVE this show.  I can't wait to catch up on all the seasons!

2.  I'm leaving for my friend's wedding on Thursday.  Where am I going, you ask?  St. Simons Island, Georgia.  WOO HOO!  I'm going to the beach!  And I'm excited for the road trip with my mom and sister!  I'm leaving my kids for the first time in two years.  Happy?  Hmmmm.....kinda.  :)

3.  The special delivery I received from my favorite guy in brown!  Yes, I'm talking about the UPS guy.  He rocks.  So does my friend, Michael who sent us some fun surprises!  THANK YOU!! :)

4.  The fact that I actually stuck to my diet and exercise plan today.  After a weekend of bad food indulgence, I definitely needed it!  I did run/walk on the treadmill for 75 minutes today to atone for my slacking off!!!

5.  I haven't seen Blake in about 5 minutes.  And believe me after last night, this is a good thing!  Let's hope he actually stays in his room and falls asleep soon!

I hope you all are continuing to be happy! :)  Have a marvelous week, my friends!

MORE Soccer?!?

I know I'm VERY behind on my "happy" posts (well, okay, maybe only two posts behind but still.....).  I will get back to them next week!  For now, I have to keep up with all the soccer tournaments.  Cuz guess were we were all weekend long (AGAIN)?!?  A big ol' soccer tournament!  Blake was awesome and scored 5 goals in the 4 games they played.  They were so awesome!  I was proud, as I always am, while watching my little soccer stud play! And yes, it rained again.  At least this time I brought an umbrella!  And Lola had a lot of fun playing with it (as you will see in the photos)!

DETROIT.......

We spent the weekend in a suburb of Detroit.  Blake had a soccer tournament so we all hit the road on Friday afternoon!  It was downhill (mostly) from there.  The hotel, while appearing aesthetically pleasing upon entering, was really pretty disgusting.  And when I say, "pretty disgusting," I really mean TOTALLY NASTY.  I mean, if anybody thinks it's cool to pay 85 bucks for a loud, flea infested, 70s style hotel, then raise your hand.  Oh, yeah.  I didn't think anyone would agree.  Let me run down a list of things that happened to us in Livonia, Michigan.

1.  The night we arrived, our room was right by the stair door.  The door didn't close properly so it was banging shut over AND over AND over AND over all night (and morning) long.  We didn't get any sleep.

2.  I slept with Lola the first night.  When we woke up, she was seriously turned sideways in the bed, pushing me off.  She moved ALL night.  Not that I was asleep due to the door issue mentioned earlier.

3.  When I woke up (with Lola sleeping sideways and the door banging loudly outside our room), there was a flea on my arm.  Yeah.  A flea.  I thought I must be imagining the "bug is definitely on me" feeling.  Alas, I wasn't.  I caught it and killed it.

4.  We asked to change rooms.  We did.  YAY....??????

5.  Not YAY.  It turned out that a wedding took place at the hotel that day (don't get me started on that).  Our new room was right above the reception hall.  Starting at 11 PM, the clean-up crew was doing their best at winning the loudest people on earth contest.  I seriously thought someone was bowling down there.  Until I figured out what it was.  It also wasn't quiet when they would wheel out the trash to the dumpster (conveniently located outside our balcony).

6.  We had to wake up at 6 AM for a 7:00 soccer game the next morning.  My eyes were red.  I could barely see the game.  My consecutive 5 hours of sleep for two nights wasn't working out for me.

7.  It rained and it was very cold during the game.  And it was very cold and windy for the two games on Saturday.

I'm happy to report Blake had an awesome goal in his first game (the team lost).  And he had two assists in the second game (the team won).  The last game was hopeless.  I'm pretty sure the kids they played were 16.  It was beyond ridiculous why they played in Blake's division.  Needless to say, they creamed all their opponents.  Including Noblesville United (Blake's team).

Then we came home.  And I celebrated having a relatively quiet home.  Without fleas.  I should also mention we had fun hanging out with our friends (outside of the hotel).  And I have to say that our lovely (sarcasm) hotel didn't even offer free internet services.  Just icing on the cake, people...... ;)

Here are some action shots of Blake.  I know some of them (a lot of them) are blurry!  Sorry!  The first picture is the only one I took of the Saturday game (when he wore his white jersey).  The rest are from the later Saturday game and the Sunday morning game  (in his black jersey)!
