Livin' La Vida FUTBOL!!!!

What?  We live the soccer life?  Yes, we do!  Surprise!  We love another sport!  We are so excited for the World Cup, we can hardly stand it!  Anyone want to enter our bracket?  Anyone?  Anyone?

Anyway, here are a few photos of our little super star!  He had an amazing weekend!  (I'm taking a moment to brag.....bear with me)!!!  He scored 5 goals in one game and 3 in the other.  Yeah, we are proud! :)  He has a busy summer with 2 British soccer camps, 3v3 soccer tournaments, and travel team soccer tryouts!  GO BLAKE (number 7)!  We heart you and we heart soccer!  But don't worry, we heart you more!

Creepy Kid!

Blake has very odd methods of waking us up in the middle of the night.  First of all, let me say he does a lot of things while half-sleeping!  A couple months ago, he walked down the stairs and started to pull down his pants, as if getting ready to go to the bathroom......IN THE LIVING ROOM!!!!!  We caught him before he did (thank heavens)!

But anyway, I'm getting off topic.  So when Blake wants to wake us up, he taps us on the forehead.  OR he just stands there, which is what he's been doing to me lately.  I am a super light sleeper anyway.  It is rather frightening to wake up and see my child hovering over me.  I also tend to startle easily.  Then it takes a good LONG time to get back to sleep after having a near heart attack, courtesy of Blake Matthews.

Well, last night, I woke to Blake standing next to my head.  He had a bloody nose so at least he had a good reason to be in my room.  Although I still think he might come up with a better way to wake me up.  I finally fell back to sleep.  Then at around 6 AM.......I woke up to Blake sitting on the window sill in the bedroom.  WHAT?  Now, THAT was scary!

Maybe he just likes to watch us sleep?!?

And Finally.......

The last life lesson?  A quote taken from one of my favorite movies:  "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line."

I'm pretty sure that one might be true.  If you learned nothing else from me over the course of the week, at least remember that!

Yay For Life Lessons!

Life lesson of the day:  Never wear sunglasses (without sunscreen) while sitting at soccer practice for almost two hours in the 90 degree sun.

Almost Done With Lessons?????

I am almost done with my life lessons, yes.  Are they that boring?  Don't answer that....mainly because I can't hear you anyway.  But mostly because I don't want to know the answer! ;)

Anyway, today was a good (but very hot) day!  Finally, the weather forecast was spot on (unfortunately).  So what did I learn today?  I learned that Lola thinks walking is the funniest thing on earth!  I learned that I shouldn't have been so worried about my nearly 18 month-old baby who wasn't walking.  So my life lesson?  Hmmmm......things come in time (in other words, be patient)! 

And another lesson?  Don't baby talk (Billy) on a video I'm going to post on this blog!  HA HA HA HA HA!  In this video, you can hear Blake giggling (too cute), Lola laughing, and me and Billy talking to Lola.  You can also see Lola's mismatched pajamas because she spilled water all over the other pajama bottoms just moments before.  She is also kinda scraggly.....but we still love her!  Congrats on taking your first steps, Lola!  Let the REAL fun begin!
