It was actually kinda hard to come up with my topic today......UNTIL I was driving and had someone riding my tail! So yeah, I'm gonna talk about tailgating (not the fun kind that people have fun with before a sporting event)!
I drive slow. Yeah, I'll admit it. But I don't drive BELOW the speed limit. When I'm tooling around town, I tend to drive RIGHT at the speed limit. I don't want a ticket. For those of you who know Indiana, you know there are cops pretty much everywhere!
Okay so that being said.....when there are two lanes....PASS ME!!! It drives me crazy when there are two lanes and someone still proceeds to follow so close they could actually hook up to my bumper for a tow! It's insane! When someone isn't going fast enough for me, I have the brains to go around them! That's why two lanes are there! Sheesh. I'm getting mad all over again!
So that's it, folks! I get angry when people ride my tail! I apologize right now for not being a speed demon! I don't feel like trying to work a ticket into my budget (which is already slim)! Any opinions on this topic? Or any suggestions for my future Tuesday posts? You know your comments are always welcome, friends!
And that's my two cents on that!

HAPPY! :)
Wow! I won't....absolutely will NOT complain about the events of the last couple days. Although I guess by typing that, I kinda just did. Sorry. It hasn't been fun around here lately! Blake had the pukes Friday night. Lola has a horrendous cough. And I possibly have a stress fracture in my leg. But hey, the HAPPY must go on! :) So here we go.....
1. Despite the leg issues I'm having, I was still able to get through my 4 miles today (slowly). I will evaluate my pain levels tomorrow to see if it is indeed more of a fracture or a very bad case of shin splints! Stay tuned!
2. Lola was pretty good. Wait. What? Yeah, I said it. She was pretty well behaved at Blake's basketball practice. I was able to watch the whole thing! It was fun!
3. It was BEAUTIFUL outside today! I LOVE when it's surprisingly warm in January!
4. A random lady at the grocery store gave me a coupon for Chex Mix (don't judge me). That rarely (never) happens. So I was pretty happy! What a nice lady! Because of her, I was able to secure TWO bags of cheddar Chex Mix for $1.00 total. YAY!
5. I'm excited to hit the NFL experience on Wednesday. I know you're all jealous that the Super Bowl isn't in YOUR city this year! :) I may or may not be planning to celebrity stalk this weekend. Ochocinco....you've been warned! ;)
Hope your days are full of happy! :)

Two Cents Tuesday!
Well, due to the OVERWHELMING number of comments and suggestions from last week, I don't even know where to begin. Oh wait, that didn't happen? Right. Okay. Well I did receive ONE e-mail suggestion so I'm going to give my opinion on the topic that was suggested! I am aware that this is an opinion blog so I can easily come up with my own posts. I just thought it would be fun to see if any of us share the SAME opinions. On anything!
Anyway, not to drone on and on about social media outlets. But tonight, I'm going to write about Facebook. I try to steer clear of status updates that are long, too depressing, or that share WAY too much information. I mean seriously people, isn't Facebook all about connecting with people and having fun? We don't want to hear that your life is in shambles. EVERY day. There are professionals who can help you deal with that. Just putting that out there.
I know I'm guilty of little over-shares. But I've really tried to stop doing that....especially on Twitter and Facebook. If you notice I'm ever in violation of the things listed above, you have my thumbs up to give me a kick in the rear. I would hate to be the pot calling the kettle black, ya know!
So my suggestion when you're trying to come up with an update? Well, if you're gonna be a Debbie Downer, just don't update your status. I sometimes go days or a week at a time before an update. Is it because my life is in turmoil? Maybe not (but maybe....). It could just be that I had a bad day and instead of venting to my 500+ friends, I want to keep it to myself or only share with close friends and family. Or perhaps I'm having trouble coming up with something witty to say.....
And that's my two cents!
*Side note* I apologize for my excessive updates about sports. I kind-of love everything football, basketball, soccer, baseball, U of L, etc....So I can't help it. Maybe I need to seek help from the aforementioned professional?!?!?! :)

HAPPY!:)
It's after 10:00 PM and I'm just getting around to this post! What a BUSY day! But hey, I don't have much to complain about so I'm definitely gonna bang out these five things that make me happy! :)
1. I hate to keep talking about my marathon (okay...it's a MINI marathon) training. But I got new shoes over the weekend and I got to wear them today! I love them. They did not make me crazy Cheetah fast or anything. But I think they helped with my shin splints. YAY! I rocked my four miles today (kinda) and I'll be running four more tomorrow (and Thursday....and Saturday.....you get it)!
2. Watching Blake play basketball tonight at practice! He is amazing! It's so much fun to watch him in all his different sports activities! It also made me laugh (still) when he accidentally hit his coach AND his coach's son in the head with an errant ball. He is still embarrassed but I thought (and still think) it was hilarious!! I mean....don't stand behind the backboard, right? ;)
3. Lola and her obsession with Boomer (the Pacers mascot). She LOOOOOVES him. She's done nothing but talk about him non-stop since the game we went to last week! Tonight in her prayers, she blessed we would be safe and get to see Boomer and the Pacers. She's so funny! Because of her, I have to pull up Twitter 800 times a day to show her the picture of Boomer (yes, I follow him....don't judge me)!
4. I'm a dork who watches WAY too much TV. So I'm super happy that I have like a billion shows to catch up on! YAY! The Bachelor? You know that's right (again....don't judge me)! :)
5. We didn't have tornadoes early this morning. I was very happy that our super severe weather turned out to be some crazy wind and rain. No tornadic activity? That makes me HAPPY!
Have a wonderful, wonderful week! :)
*This picture makes me happy, too! Lola wanted me to take a picture of her with her daddy (on Friday)! LOVE it! :)

Two Cents Tuesday!
Okay so here goes the first Two Cents Tuesday! And my opinion today is on........DRUM ROLL PLEASE........Twitter. I know many of you aren't on the site (but you should be) so you might not know what I'm talking about. But here's the thing. Why do you follow people if you don't like them? And I'm talking about famous people. "Normal" people....this rule doesn't really apply! Although, really, as a rule you should only follow people you like!
For example, I follow some really cool people. Like, you know, Chad Ochocinco. And Drew Brees. And some other people (like 50 or so...) I follow those people because I like them. I think they're funny. And I mostly like what they tweet. It IRRITATES me when I see all the negativity pop up on other people's feeds. So that begs the question. WHY DO YOU FOLLOW THEM IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE RUDE TO THEM?!?!?!? I don't ever nasty tweet anyone, let alone someone famous! ;)
I get that it's annoying that other people are successful, rich, and famous. I want to be rich and famous, too. But seriously, folks. If you're only purpose on Twitter is to bash the people you follow, you might want to get a new hobby! Just puttin' that out there!
Even if you aren't on Twitter, you should understand why this is ridiculously annoying! RIGHT?!?
Anyway, I'm up for suggestions from YOU for my Tuesday posts! Is there anything in particular you want my opinion on? I have thoughts on MANY, MANY things! But I'd love to write a blog featuring some of YOUR topics! So let me hear it, folks! Either leave it in a comment or e-mail me at: yadons@gmail.com.
And that's my two cents on that! Hope your Tuesday is swell!

HAPPY! :)
1. This picture makes me happy! The whole family went to the Pacers game on Saturday. At the end of the first quarter, our awesome friend came and asked if Blake and I wanted to sit on the court! He was up and ready to go in about two seconds (thank you to Billy for sitting with Lola and our friends)! To say he enjoyed his first time on the hardwood is an UNDERstatement! He had a blast! We were right behind the basket and VERY close to the Pacers bench. Yeah, I was waving and smiling at all the players. What of it? We recorded the game and Blake was on TV BIG time. HOORAY!
2. I bought more storage for my blog. For $5 a year, I can continue posting photos! That makes me happy! And perhaps it will make my readers happy, too!
3. I did a pretty good job training for my mini today! I ran my three miles straight (totally not a big deal). But I stuck to the time I wanted! Then I walked an extra two miles! Woo hoo. So it was absolutely OK that I ate a whole bunch of rubbish today, right? Sheesh! Still workin' on that dumb diet! I'll get there!
4. Speaking of diet. I'm sippin' on a most delicious Diet Coke from McDonald's. Be jealous. It's that good!
5. I'm happy that my house is clean and I'm sitting down to enjoy it. Lola has been mad crazy today and it's nice to take a little breather!
In honor of Martin Luther King day, I'd like to say I'm also happy because of the incredible work he accomplished! What an amazing man! To quote him: "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope."
Have a wonderful week!

2012!
Holy smokes, folks! It's 2012! I like to call it two thousand twelve. Billy calls it twenty-twelve. You? What do you guys think? Anyway, this is my first post of the brand new year. Twelve days in and I'm just now getting around to it! Mainly because it took me 22 years (roughly) to create my 2011 blog book. Then another 22 years (slight exaggeration) to change the look of my blog. I like to do that once a year! You know, a new year should have a new look and some new tunes! I did that for you, my readers! You're welcome....unless you don't like it.....then I'm sorry! ;)
Here are a few things we've been up to:
1. Lola got into her Buttpaste (yes, that is the product name) and used it like a tube of lotion. She rubbed it ALL over her face, all over her hair, and all over her princess dress. She also managed to get a good-sized portion on the carpet. Oh. Happy. Day. I was too angry to take a picture. Looking back, I wish I would have snapped a quick photo. Anyway....she still kinda looks like a greaser. That stuff is a BEAST to get out of hair.
2. Blake had his first basketball game on Tuesday. His team won 25-3. He scored 17 points. You do the math. Future professional baller? Mmmm......maybe. If soccer doesn't work out, we know which sport to pursue next! :) He was really lighting it up out there!
3. I can't change the main picture on my blog because apparently I've "exceeded the number of photos I can upload." Thank you, Google and Picasa. That is also the reason I will not be posting any photos from Blake's basketball game. I'm working on getting this all sorted. A blog with no pictures is bound to get boring. Though perhaps being inundated with photos is annoying, too. Things that make you go hmmm.....
4. I've written almost TWO chapters in my new book! Hooray for slight motivation! I'm getting there!
5. Billy and I have started our mini marathon training. Week one was NOT uber successful but we'll get there. We have until April 28th. That's enough time, right? :)
6. I will be attending Zumba tomorrow for the first time in my life. If you don't hear from me again, you'll know what happened (i.e. it kicked my trash).
Things I will be getting into this year on the blog that is Simply Sarah:
1. I'm going to start doing the "HAPPY" blogs again. I probably won't do them EVERY Monday. But I'll do them more often than I did last year. I'm gonna go ahead and say that this WILL be a better year! Positivity goes a long way......RIGHT?!?
2. I'm going to do an opinion blog every (hopefully) Tuesday called Two Cents Tuesday. I know you are all interested in my thoughts on things! If not, then you might want to call it Tune Out Tuesday.
3. I want more people to read my blog. How do I do that? Suggestions? Become funnier? Use less photos? Write shorter blogs? Forget about it and accept that I will never be as popular as those "other" bloggers! ;)
That's about it, my friends! I'm looking forward to this year! I have a lot of things going on and I'm ready to tackle them all! Hope your year is going well so far! :)
