She loves the zoo so much that we went TWICE in one week! The day after I kinda went crazy (the last happier post), I decided to get out of the house and do something fun. Lola wanted to go to the zoo. So we went! I only have one photo from that trip (first pic below)! But I have several from three days later when Billy and Blake joined us! Oh how we love some wild animals! Our favorite? The tigers. For sure. Check out how close they were to the glass. I'm pretty sure they wanted to eat us all. Anyway, Lola's favorite from the first trip? The seals. They were making some really funny noises. She loved it!

First Day of School!
I can't believe Blake is in third grade already! I remember third grade like it was yesterday. Okay, maybe not like it was yesterday....But I sure do have some great memories of it! And now Blake is off to make his own memories! They started last Wednesday, Aug. 17th. I thought that was pretty early. But since I'm not in charge of creating the school calendar, I didn't really have much I could do about it! We had a super fun summer but Blake is already doing great in school. And I should mention that he asked ME for help with his homework tonight. It was math. Me+math=all bad things. Thankfully, the question was easy enough for me to answer! PHEW! That was close!
Here are some photos of Blake going out to the bus. And then we had a luau themed back to school dinner after school! He LOVED it!

Photobooth FUN!!
I did mention my sister, Katie, had a photobooth at her reception, right? And we were all slightly (TOTALLY) obsessed with it? Yeah. Well, here are just a few (that's right.....there are more....) of my favorites!

Happier!
Let me preface this post by saying that Billy didn't come home over the weekend (he had training in Florida...). So I'm a tad bit (TOTALLY) insane right now. Like after I'm done typing this, I might drive myself over to a loony bin. It's that bad. Might I also mention that I don't really like complaining but I feel that tonight has to be a much needed "vent" post! So instead of a happy post, I'm writing things that could make me HAPPIER!!:):):)
1. I would by happier if I didn't have to take Lola to Blake's dentist appointments anymore. Like ever. Ever. Ever.
2. I would be happier if I didn't have to take Lola to buy cleats with Blake AFTER said dentist appointment. I should also mention that Lola didn't get a nap today because of the dentist appointment. So yes, I'm pretty much blaming this whole rotten day on the blingin' dentist.
3. I would be happier if I didn't have to take Lola to all of Blake's practices (M and W-2 hours of football, T and TH- an hour and 15 min of soccer) every week!
4. I would be happier if I didn't have to bring Lola to the grocery store ever again. Man, was she embarrassing tonight. Again.
5. I would be happier if I actually lived with my husband. Like all the time. Maybe. Or at least if I had a nanny?!? ;)
Wow. That's a whole lot of complaining. I sincerely apologize but it felt good to get that out there! And my (ten gallon) hat is tipped to all those single parents out there! I was, too, after I got divorced. But this is a whole different ball game. I'm not sure why?!? Maybe because I know I have a darling husband who simply isn't around to help me out on crazy nights such as these. Who knows. All I know is it's been quite a day! Thanks for listening. And by listening, I mean reading. Things have to get better! Right?!?

Journey. And Foreigner. And Night Ranger. Oh My!
What a concert it was! My sister, Beth, drove all the way to Indy to attend this amazing concert with me. I have to admit that it was pretty awesome. I also have to admit that I almost enjoyed the people watching as much as I enjoyed the show. I have never seen such a crazy crowd!!! Consequently, there is only one photo of Beth and I (taken by ourselves)....and about 20 of the strange people around us (taken by my sister so they won't appear on my blog)! :(

Four Soccer Games and a Wedding!
Yeah. We had a bit of a busy weekend last weekend. It included driving back and forth from Louisville to Indy twice so Blake could compete in his team's first soccer tournament. And of course, he also had a football game to play in, too. He had to to play in all the games AND get to Katie's wedding by 3 PM. WHOOOOWHEEEE....it was wild! But we made it and EVERYTHING went well!
Highlights of the weekend: Blake scored 4 goals in his 3 games (he did end up having to miss one of the four games...). He did okay in football. I was able to fit into the super tiny bridesmaid dress I was dreading for ages! Yes, it was still tight. But the fact that I could wear it for eight hours straight definitely lands it in the highlight reel. I should also mention that the wedding was supposed to be outside. Due to the tornadic like winds that came through 30 minutes before the wedding, the ceremony was moved inside. Then the power went out. Yeah. That's right. It was actually lovely to see my sister get married in a candlelight ceremony. It ended up being beautiful.
The reception was super fun. I love dancing and will still do so even when wearing a very tight bridesmaid dress! And they had a photobooth, too. Yeah. I was there pretty much all night. It was awesome!
So after all was said and done, the weekend was lovely. It was great to spend time with family. It was great that Billy was able to watch Blake play awesome games of soccer. One of my favorite things? Wearing fake eyelashes for the first time. Ever. Thank you, Jess. It was an amazing experience. For reals.
I didn't get any photos from the sporting events. But I got some photos of the girls getting ready for the wedding (and yes, I was wearing one of my dad's button-up shirts from the 70s). Congrats, Creighton and Katie. We had an amazing time watching you start your lives together! :)
